Owner & President: Nick
Nick's transition from university professor to business owner has been exciting. He thrives on connecting national politics and economics to our work (e.g., how will tariffs in Brazil affect our Ipe hardwood costs next year?) and he loves meeting new clients and vendors.
When not at work, Nick enjoys listening to classical music, doing home renovations, discussing politics over a gin and tonic, spending time with family, and singing.
Owner & Director of Operations: Sherri
As a psychology professor, Sherri loved learning new things and mentoring students. Both of these passions have carried over into her work at DRS as she leads the company's production efforts.
Away from work, Sherri enjoys fishing, kayaking, reading thrillers, and bird-watching.
Project Manager: Jake
Jake’s journey from novice builder to project manager has been quick — he’s mastered the tools of our trade and now loves tackling design and organizational challenges. He thrives on finding ways to streamline work processes and increase quality standards. Jake can switch between being the go-to decision-maker and being a supportive coach, offering big-picture insights while giving the team freedom to make decisions. He also enjoys collaborating with clients to fine-tune project details that bring their vision to life.
Away from work, Jakes enjoys shooting hoops, more carpentry, and playing with his two rottweilers.
Foreman: Brody
Brody brings boundless energy to every project, always eager to keep things moving and keep the crew engaged. His favorite part of the job? Helping clients get to the beach and enjoy nature with their families. While he loves working with the impact drill, Brody's skills don’t stop there—he’s also a pro at backing trailers and driving the skidsteer. Whether it’s carpentry or enjoying the lakeshore wildlife, Brody loves working outdoors and embracing the beauty of every site.
When not at DRS, Brody likes to hang out with family, kayak, fish, and renovate his new house.
Builder: Matt is our longest-serving crew member and knows how to do all the things. Among the power tools, Matt loves the cordless worm drive saw the best, and he is our chief cut-man. When not at the saw, he rivals El as our fastest dune grass planter.
Outside of work, Matt loves spending time with his family, running Tough Mudders, and enjoying a good pipe.
Builder: Zane enjoys building stairs and using the bow wrench because "nature doesn't get to decide when my board fits or not." He also loves spending the day with all his work brothers. Zane learns fast, but his sense of humor is even faster.
At home, Zane loves playing with his three daughters and catching fish.
Builder: Mikey brings hardware store and arborist experience to our team. His favorite tool is the "weebler" (multi-tool) because it allows for good detail work. He appreciates the variety of jobs at DRS and solving different problems every day.
Mikey loves fishing, hanging out with his family, and playing with his giant Cane Corso.
Office Manager: El uses her business degree to improve our sales, project management, marketing, bookkeeping, etc. She also loves racing the zero-turn mower to keep the facility grounds looking good.
When she's not at work, she loves caring for animals, kayaking, and shooting guns.
